Editorial Policy and Reporting Methodology
ICE Spotted is a community safety platform. This page explains how we handle reports, what we publish, and how we correct errors.
Core standard: we prioritize speed for community awareness, but we apply consistency checks to reduce misinformation and duplicate reports.

1. Current Static Build Status
- Some map markers and feed entries shown on this site are curated example entries used to explain page structure and reporting context in this static build.
- Direct submission from on-page report forms is currently disabled while we migrate to a reviewed intake workflow.
- We do not treat these example entries as exhaustive real-time coverage or as official enforcement totals.
2. Anonymous Reporting and Data Minimization
- When direct intake is available, we do not require account creation to submit a sighting.
- Reports are designed for minimum personal data exposure.
- We publish operational details needed for public awareness, such as location context, time window, and visible activity type.
3. How We Review Community Reports
- We check internal consistency in timeline, location clues, and described behavior.
- We compare new submissions against recent nearby reports to identify overlaps and reduce duplicates.
- When uncertainty is high, reports are framed cautiously and without definitive legal conclusions.
4. Sources and Content Standards
- Guides rely on publicly available legal rights resources and policy information.
- State pages summarize recurring community-report patterns and are not official enforcement totals.
- Operational claims are presented as reported activity, not adjudicated findings.
5. Corrections and Updates
- If a page contains a material error, we correct or clarify it as quickly as possible.
- Substantive updates are reflected in page content and sitemap freshness.
- Correction requests can be submitted via Contact.
6. Legal and Safety Notice
- Site content is informational and not legal advice.
- For case-specific guidance, consult a qualified immigration attorney.
- During any encounter, prioritize personal safety first.
